Teaching group fitness is what I love. I dedicate myself to pushing the positive energy right through the screen into your workout space. Being active isn't always about losing weight, or running faster. Bodies are meant to move. We show love and care to ourselves when we get some physical activity every day. And when we do it together? Well, it helps keep us accountable and makes it far more fun.

I am an AFAA certified instructor, also certified with Les Mills as an Advanced Level instructor in both BodyFlow and BodyJam, and an Elite Level instructor in BodyCombat. In addition, I am a certified Orangetheory Fitness and Lift45 Coach. I love dance and all sports, especially the ones being played by my college-age kids or their schools (Pitt and JMU).

I am originally from CT, where I earned a MA in Counseling Psychology from UCONN, so that made me a huge WNBA fan (long before Caitlin Clark) because there are so many Huskies in the league. My husband and I proudly graduated from James Madison University. We coupled during our college senior years, and now we realize truly what our senior years might look like in the near future ;) 

We love live music and attending concerts, theater and dance, and of course, sporting events.

I volunteer with Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety. And I recently visited Iceland with my family and hiked a glacier!

  • Dance is my favorite form of expression and I try to attend a few live dance shows every season

  • I’m an enthusiastic supporter of the superhero cause of donating blood, after avoiding it for 25 years because of my fear of needles - YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

  • I aim to read 52 books every year - a mix of fiction and non-fiction - anything from Tia Williams to Stephen King, from business wisdom to poetry, from memoirs to fitness science

With the monthly membership, the recurring charge will auto-bill on the same day each month. There is no commitment. You may cancel at any time. Partial months are not refundable. The annual membership saves you nearly $70 but commits you for 12 months. No refunds, but I can freeze the membership for a specified amount of time in cases of illness or injury.

Kate's class turned cardiovascular exercise from a chore to the highlight of my week. Kate knows how to motivate you so that you push yourself just a little harder than you did the time before to obtain new levels of success you had never thought possible. I always enjoyed taking in-person classes with KateF because she brought so much energy. Transitioning to online, I am sure was not easy, but Kate put so much time and effort to bring the in-person enthusiasm and professionalism to her online classes. She goes above and beyond outside of class to ensure the sound and video quality is perfect. She asks for feedback on how to improve her classes. She continuously keeps us updated of any changes. And the best part is, even though we are apart, she always explains the importance of proper form and technique and provides modifications for each exercise to avoid injury. Kate is a great instructor!

I have attended workout classes in gyms for 30 years and have never had a leader who has brought the athlete out in me in the way Kate does. She has an uncanny ability to get me to dig deep within myself and push myself harder than I’ve ever been able to push. I find myself looking forward to her classes in ways that I would have thought were reserved for vacations or evenings out with friends. Kate’s pure excitement for fitness, and indeed, for life is contagious and has influenced me even outside the gym. Kate shares herself not only through her classes but through Facebook and emails – and she does this because fitness is not just a job, it is truly her passion. In no small part because of her influence I find that I now park at the far end of parking lots, take the stairs, and make more healthful food choices. Kate is not just an instructor; she’s a life coach, she’s a cheerleader, and best of all, she’s a friend.
